Lava crossed the road in 2018 on the big island of Hawaii, in and around Leilani estates. Over 700 homes and livelihoods were taken , and the community is still waiting for its most vital piece of survival, A ROAD HOME, 5 years later . Hawaii county was funded over 80 million for this road and they refuse to give the community their only recovery as they upgrade the entire island (except the actual affected areas) with our kilauea recovery . Please stand in solidarity with #weareKilauea and sign this petition today

Having a road in a disaster-ridden community is crucial for many reasons. Firstly, it provides a safe and efficient means of transportation for emergency services such as ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars. In the event of a disaster, every second counts, and having a road can make all the difference in saving lives.

Secondly, a road allows for easier access to essential supplies and aid. With a road, relief workers can quickly and easily deliver food, water, and medical supplies to those in need. This can be a lifeline for those who have lost everything in a disaster and are struggling to survive.

Lastly, having a road can help to rebuild the community after a disaster. It allows for easier access to construction materials and equipment, making it easier to repair damaged buildings and infrastructure. It also allows for easier transportation of goods and services, which can help to jumpstart the local economy and aid in the recovery process.

In conclusion, having a road in a disaster-ridden community is essential for providing emergency services, delivering aid, and aiding in the recovery process. It is crucial that communities prioritize the construction and maintenance of roads to ensure the safety and well-being of their residents.
