Aloha world ,
Here we are again , on the beautifully long, never ending, soul-healing, shadow work journey that is Complex PTSD and me ; Working through the chaos (the blog you are on now , if you haven't already, please subscribe to stay connected for lots of great medical resources for you or anyone you love who is struggling with #CPTSD - subscribe at cptsdandme.com , and also follow CPTSD and me ; Working through the chaos on Facebook and Twitter )
Since the new years , I have set firm boundaries for my own healing journey (see here -- https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid023E49oMWqd4Ztt3jUcdZpngYfS2ZUoUhT7AkTpqiUwmWd4RgZ1AAQUMjPpULxkSdYl&id=100086023933208&sfnsn=mo&mibextid=RUbZ1f , believe me , it's worth it. ) And I hope it brings others who need to stand up for themselves , some inspiration. You CAN DO IT . Even if it means loosing them all while you focus on you. Once you are healed and feel your ok to allow that back in... Do it. That's just not me ..I have been hurt way to long and literally can't anymore .
So , now that your back from clicking that link to my post the other day , let me fill you in a little context, not to long , then we will get to the A few days ago I gave my parent a ultimatum which I've never done before saying they WILL loose their relationship with their child if they can't manage to pull their head out of their ass and come here for 5 minutes to meditate a extremely serious problem with their "woofer" (someone who lives on farm , works to live there rent free , is a woofer) who physically attacked me months ago, sending me back into very extreme CPTSD episodes pretty much daily .
Well ... Never in a million years would I think this parent would pick a drunken fool , who tried to kick their kids a$$ , over her said kid , instead of being a actual grown up and come talk to them for 5 minutes and have him explain what happened or just assure the person with CPTSD episodes now due to him that it won't happen again. What a joke. Sick of it , done with it and the head turning/acting like they don't live in reality ... Bye bye if that's the case.
My mental health literally depends on it now.
You know what they say ... BIRDS OF A FEATHER , RIGHT 🤙
So without further adue , here we have BrainSpotting . Please comment if you have heard anything on this , maybe you yourself have had this treatment or someone you care for . I am considering speaking to my trauma therapist about it next session .

"Unresolved trauma such as narcissistic abuse can leave you feeling drained, exhausted, or in a hyper-vigilant state as you stay in the trauma responses of fight, flight, or freeze. This releases the stress hormone, cortisol, which negatively impacts mood, memory, sleep, focus, digestion, and your immune system. Unlike traditional talk therapy, Brainspotting Therapy bypasses the thinking brain (neocortex) and accesses the reactive brain (subcortex), allowing you to resolve trauma responses in a comfortable, controlled setting.
Brainspotting (BSP) was discovered by David Grand, Ph.D. in 2003. Dr. Grand believes that where people look affects how they feel. He realized that people can access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain where brain activity organises itself around their eye position.
This process of bilateral stimulation down-regulates the amygdala (our fear centre) because the eye position accesses somatic capsules in the subcortical brain where this trapped trauma is stuck. Brainspotting Therapy reveals, disrupts, and releases negative thoughts associated with memories and changes them to positive ones. BSP therapy includes somatic work, neuroscience, interpersonal neurobiology, and the polyvagal theory.

During treatment, you will be guided to look in a certain direction, guided by a pointer. Together, we will find the spots that are triggering a response in your body.
If a particular spot activates a negative memory, we will have found a brain spot, where trauma is stored. Working together in a safe and attuned environment using bio lateral music, the trauma can then be processed effectively. The past can’t be changed but your continued emotional reaction can be brought back into regulation within your everyday life.Brainspotting is an effective treatment for anyone suffering with the following:
PTSD/Complex PTSD
Trauma
Flashbacks – Recurring traumatic memories that interrupt your life
Relationship Problems and Wounds such as narcissistic abuse Being Stuck in Grief and Loss
Bipolar Disorder
Crippled by Fears and Phobias
Fear of Flying
Performance Anxiety and Overcoming Blocks
Stress, Panic, and Anxiety
Sexual Trauma and Abuse
Anger Management
Chronic Pain that is not the direct result of a physical injury Addiction and Compulsive Behaviours
Negative Self Beliefs and Criticism
Depression
Nightmares and sleep disorders
Brainspotting is a powerful and deeply transformative therapy and allows for the brains’ natural healing processes to give you the freedom that you want from the triggers that are stopping you living the life you deserve.
The information quoted above is taken from https://carolinestrawson.com/trauma_unlockings/brain-spotting/ , who is a great mental health coach, I personally find her inspirational, and follow her on faKebok, even have signed up for her newest boot camp this month ! 🥰🧠🌼🙏🌈
I am all for self treatment when possible, as well as seeking professional help when needed. It's truly important to find a #cptsdtherapist , which I am still in search of in person in Hilo Hawaii. In the meantime I amatched online with a trauma therapist one on one , zoom style .
Here's what i found regarding BrainSpotting on Google about diy--

And about regular paid therapy (again, I highly recommend professional therapy, but many can't afford this .... Or they can't find a therapist... Or they really and truly do want to learn themselves and try to heal and learn even more about themselves then ever before without outside intervention. Either way , I like to look at all options myself ..

I do want to create a forum for us as a community, but I do need to know there is interest . Comments are wide open , and I'm all ears on what resources and types of articles you would like to see on the blog
Aloha
Jazzy
I did it years ago, and had very early memories come up and I was very surprised. It was helpful, and painful, and I wish I had had a better therapist doing it.
I really appreciate your blog and would love to collaborate
