and some in the Puna community are gearing up for a peaceful protest outside the Pahoa Library tomorrow 05042023 , demanding the decommissioning of a corrupt Israeli geothermal plant. ( see links at end if article for lots of information. Share this worldwide , and help us by signing the petition today!)
The Lower East Rift Zone (LERZ) community has been subjected to 24/7 health threats and has had their human rights obliterated for 35 years and has had enough (to say the least). The protest will take place outside the Pahoa library, at the same time a pop-up newsroom will be on location. the "Civil Beat" newsroom is coming to Pahoa, Tomorrow from 8-12, then 1-4.
The Israeli ORMAT geothermal plant called Puna Geothermal Venture has been operating above all law on earth, "SELF regulating" (with no actual regulating or monotoring, at all, and they area smack dab in the middle of a beautiful community/residential area as they have been since 1989.
Currently in 2023 children to elders in the community ARE getting sick and its being covered up, as the state of Hawaii usually does things .
The thing is though, you cant ignore 175 residents and counting, who signed and left reasons , ie: their own personal testimonies of their health issues and actual human suffering due to PGV .
The gassings are causing severe health threats to the Puna community and The residents have been gassed, mocked, and the issue has been covered up for far too long. The peaceful protest aims to bring attention to this issue and demand action.
The Puna community is motivated and ready to take a stand against the Israeli geothermal plant. The protest will be a peaceful demonstration and The community hopes that their voices will be heard and that the corrupt geothermal plant will be decommissioned.
Join in with us tomorrow. Bring a sign or make one there , and make sure to wear RED to stand in #solidarity
Jazzy

The community is encouraged to participate in the protest and share their stories with the civil beat newsroom that will be there . This newsroom popup is not affiliated with the #wearepuna movement.
The LERZ Puna community is ready to stand up for what they believe in and make their voices heard. The peaceful protest will be a powerful display of unity and strength with the right amount of people.
The community hopes to inspire change and create a better future for all.
